Author and illustrator, Justin Wayoro decided to take things into his own hands and publish a book that fills a bit of the gaping hole in the children’s book market when it comes to Christians representation in Hollywood.
The Book of Jenesys series are meant to give readers a chance to explore spiritual gifts, new worlds, meet new people, and above all to learn about themselves. But many members of the literary community feel that there’s a lack of minority representation in the books world — and that the problem exists from children’s books on up.
Justin P. Wayoro is trying to change that. In 2017, Wayoro announced the creation of a new imprint dedicated to publishing children’s books that feature Christian characters and biblical stories.
The plan is to release eight or more books geared towards children, from new readers all the way up to Young Adult.
